Hi! I am a fifth-year PhD student in the Department of Cognitive Science at Johns Hopkins University, working with John Hale. I am broadly interested in computational linguistics and psycholinguistics, particularly questions about the representations and mechanisms underlying our ability to produce and comprehend language. I’m especially drawn to mathematical approaches such as information theory and formal grammars that make precise claims about the human language processing algorithm.

Before coming to JHU, I completed a B.A. in Cognitive Science and Computer Science at the University of California, Berkeley. While there, I was fortunate to work with Gašper Beguš studying phonological representations in generative adversarial networks trained on speech data. In my free time, I enjoy reading fantasy fiction and playing trading card games.
